Self-employed

We would like to talk to people with physical disabilities that have been gainfully self-employed, meaning that you have established and/or maintained your own business, and have benefitted financially, socially or psychologically from this work.  Discouraging stories abound regarding the difficulties of finding and maintaining employment for people with disabilities, but this research focuses on “success stories.”  The purpose of seeking out positive examples is to understand “what works” and pass this knowledge along to the larger community to encourage employers to hire people with disabilities, and improve work culture for people with disabilities.

If you are a self-employed person with a physical disability, we would also like to hear from you.

Interviews involve a one hour conversation via video-conference.

Participants will receive a gift card as a thank-you for participating.

Interviews are audio recorded.
